Ginger Lime Bucha-Rita

Ever want a good margarita, that’s good for you, without all the sugar and additives from the mixer (which is always what I believe gets me more drunk and leaves me with the headache)?

Of all the hard liquors out there, tequila is definitely my favorite (especially silver)…well, maybe it ties with moonshine…but both are clear and pure, without colorants or additives and you can either sip or shoot them depending on your mood.  Fortunately, they’re also pretty versatile when it comes to mixers and flavors, especially fruit and citrus which I’m a particular fan of.

That said, if I can find a healthy alternative that I can thoroughly enjoy and doesn’t wig me out (for lack of a better description), I’m all for it.  And this is so easy! I originally tried this with lime (or lemon) fizz water and a splash of either really authentic ginger ale (Reeds or TJ’s or Zevia soda, if you really wanna go low carb) which are also delicious and low sugar, but this one adds adds those best components PLUS gut healthy bacteria that we can all use.  Hope you enjoy it!

Ginger Lime Bucha-Rita

  • 1 shot silver tequila (or your preference)
  • 1/3 shot orange liquer (or limoncello if preferred or in a pinch)
  • 6-8 oz. ginger kombucha
  • 1 lime, squeezed plus a slice for garnish, if desired
  • ice

Instructions

Instructions:

  1. Add ice to a 12 oz. glass of your choice.

  2. Add tequila, liquer, lime juice and kombucha and stir. Garnish with lime slice, if desired.
    To dilute, if desired, add a splash of lime or lemon fizz water. Enjoy!
